How to properly maintain a razor:
Daily cleaning
The blade is the most critical part of a razor and needs to be cleaned frequently. For electric razors, you can use a brush to remove hair scraps along the blade to avoid damaging the blade during cleaning. If the manual razor is a multi-layer box razor, a double-sided razor, etc., you can also use a brush to carefully clean the stubble and other debris between the gaps in the blade. After cleaning, you can spray a cleaning and disinfecting lubricant to keep the blade sharp. The most common way to clean the blade is to rinse it with clean water, but you should pay special attention when rinsing it. Whether it is an electric razor plugged in or an electric razor using a dry battery, it is best not to touch the razor body with water to avoid mechanical failure. If it is a wet and dry electric razor, the base should still not be exposed to water to avoid damaging the motor. For manual razors, some washable styles should be wiped dry in time after cleaning to avoid rust.
For electric razors, you can also use a small brush to clean the broken beards and skin scraps remaining on the blade holder after each use. If there is grease on the blade, you can wipe it gently with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol, and then apply some sewing machine oil on the blade, but never use hard objects to scrape.
Correct use
When using a razor, the blade head should be close to the skin to achieve the best effect. When using it, the angle between the razor and the skin should be kept at 90 degrees, so that the blade head can approach the beard without hindrance to achieve the best shaving effect. This is true for both electric rotary, reciprocating razors and manual razors. For example, when using a reciprocating electric razor, you can place the razor at a 90-degree vertical position to the skin with one hand, and stretch the facial skin with the other hand, shaving in a straight line against the growth direction of the beard; when using a manual razor, you also need to keep the blade at a proper angle to the skin to avoid scratching the skin.
Do not use an electric razor with insufficient power. Forcing it to use will damage the inside of its motor. For a rechargeable razor, charge it after the battery is used up. When charging it for the first time, charge it for 3-4 hours more than the full charge time. If you use a dry cell shaver, pay attention to the replacement of the battery. It is best to remove the battery after each use to prevent battery leakage. It is best to use alkaline batteries.
Wash the beard area before use to prevent dirt and acidic substances from penetrating and corroding the blade.
Mite treatment
After using the shaver for a period of time, mites may breed on the blade. For electric shavers, after two weeks of use, unscrew the blade, take out the blade, sweep away the beard stubble, and then drop half a drop of Fengyoujing on the blade to kill mites. Because Fengyoujing's special smell and the active ingredients in it are the nemesis of mites, and its oily state will not cause the blade to rust, and it will not affect the skin. However, be careful not to drop Fengyoujing on the rotating shaft.
