A manual razor generally consists of a razor head and a shaving handle. The handle is made of aluminum, stainless steel, copper, plastic, rubber, etc., while the razor head is a combination of blades and plastic/rubber. The blades are generally made of stainless steel or carbon steel, and the cutting edge is treated with special materials to ensure the razor's sharpness and durability. To ensure a smooth shave, the razor head usually contains a lubricating strip for moisturizing and soothing. To use, attach the razor head to the handle and hold the handle to shave.

Here are 6 tips for using a manual razor:

1. Cleanse the beard area. Clean the razor and your hands, and wash your face (especially the beard area).

2. Soften the beard with warm water. Pat some warm water on your face to open the pores and soften the beard. Apply shaving foam or shaving cream to the area to be shaved, wait 2-3 minutes, and then begin shaving.

3. Shave from top to bottom. The shaving process usually starts with the upper cheeks on both sides, then the mustache, and finally the angular areas of the face. The general principle is to start with the sparsest areas and leave the thickest areas for last. This allows the shaving cream to remain on the skin longer, further softening the stubble.

4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. After shaving, rinse thoroughly with warm water and gently pat the shaved area dry with a towel. Do not rub vigorously.

5. Aftershave care. The skin is somewhat injured after shaving, so avoid rubbing it. Continue to splash your face with cold water at the end, then apply aftershave, toner, astringent, or aftershave lotion.

Sometimes, you might shave too hard and cause bleeding. Don't panic. Remain calm and immediately apply a styptic ointment. You can also press a small wad of clean cotton or tissue firmly against the wound for 2 minutes. Then, dampen a clean tissue with a few drops of water and gently apply it to the wound. Slowly peel off the cotton or tissue.

6. Clean the Blade
Remember to rinse the razor thoroughly and let it air dry in a well-ventilated area. To prevent bacterial growth, change the blade regularly. After rinsing with water, you can also soak it in 75% alcohol.

Making this 6-step shaving routine a habit will make you feel handsome every day. No stubble, clean and neat, leaving a great impression.
